Makeup collection and storage

So I made a video going over my makeup collection. Its shaky and I ramble incessantly and it cuts off at the end. So I decided not to upload it instead just took a bunch of pictures. I might get the chance to film the collection video again sometime in the future but for now I'll just share with you the photos.Once again, these photos were taken with my phone so they aren't the greatest quality, but you can get the the basic idea!

First on top of my vanity is a little basket where I keep all of my hair products, my deodorant and other everyday products that I reach for a lot. Next to the basket I keep two cups which contain my face brushes and eye brushes.

All of those things are on the left side of my vanity. On the right side I just have a box of tissues, a little lettter organizer that I picked up at Walmart that contains a few of my eyeshadow palettes. I also have a little plastic martini glass which is really cute and that holds all of my EOS lip balms. I also have a little glass jar that contains a bunch of my jewelry.

All right now we can move on to my actual makeup collection. I use to store it all in little plastic Sterilite drawers but it wasn't the most sturdy or attractive way to store makeup. So I was on the mission to find something better. what I finally came up with was a Helmer unit from Ikea. It's a short metal cabinet with 6 drawers in it and it's perfect for storing my makeup. I picked up 2 of them as well as the plastic drawer organizers for around 100 dollars total so it was really great deal.

The first drawer contains all of my face products. In the very top little space I keep all of my powders. I don't have many of those. In the next section on the left I keep all of my foundations. I have foundations from ELF,  rimmel and Revlon as well as NYC. I also have a tinted moisturizer from elf. Next to that and another little section I keep all of my face primers and moisturizers as well as my ELF mist and spray. In front of those sections on the left I keep all of my concealers. I have concealers from ELF, hard candy, urban decay as well as L'Oreal. Next to those I just have a couple of compact mirrors and a zapper from ELF.

My next drawer contains all of my cheek products. So the very back segment is open and waiting for me to purchase more products. Haha not that I need anymore but it's nice to know that I have a little extra room if I did decide I want to buy more. The left handed segment is full of all of my powder blushes. I've got mostly elf brushes but I also have blushes from LA Colors and hard candy.  in the segment next to that I have all my bronzers. Again mostly from ELF but I also have 1 from NYC. The segment in front of that on the left contains all of my cream blushes. Again these are mostly ELF. I have a studio cream blush as well as there HD blushes from ELF. I also have a blush stick from wet n wild. The last little segment of this drawer has my high lighting products so I have hey cream highlighter from urban decay. I have a bunch of the all over color sticks from elf. I also have an ELF studio blush in gotta glow which I use for highlighting.

The next drawer contains all of my lip products. It's one of my favorite drawers! I just love the way it looks. haha. Anyway, I have this drawer organizer turned in a different direction than the other ones, because it works better for me this way. So in the top section of this drawer, on the left, I have my lip balms. Of course, not all my lip balms. You already saw my EOS lip balms on top of the vanity.  On the top right I have my ELF lip stains. In front of those, on the left I have all of my squeeze tube type lip glosses. I have lip glosses from Elf, Forever 21 and Urban Decay. In the right hand section I have other types of lip gloss like those in stick form, and those in  tube with a doe foot applicator. Most of the glosses in this section come from ELF, but I have some other brands mixed in there as well. The very bottom section houses all of my lip sticks and maybelline baby lips lip balms. I like that these drawers are deep enough that I can stall of my lipsticks up. It makes finding the lipstick that I want much easier. Plus it looks so nice that way! I store most of my lipsticks upside down so I can easily read the labels. I have lipsticks from Revlon, Urban Decay, Maybelline, NYC as well as ELF lipsticks from the mineral line, and the essential line.

The next drawer contains all of my eyeshadow bases, mascaras and eyeliners. This is another one of my favorite drawers!  The very back section houses all of my eyeliners. I have many pencil liners as well as liquid liners and gel eyeliners.  of my eyeliners come from ELF or urban Decay but I also have some from NYC, LA colors and Bonnebell. The next section, on the left contains all of my eyelid primers. So I have primers from Elf, Urban Decay and one from too faced. This section also contains my eyeshadow pencils from Urban Decay and my jumbo eyeshadow sticks from Elf. The section on the right all of my mascaras. I have mascaras from Maybelline, Cover Girl, smashbox, L'Oreal, ELF and NYC. I also have my Elf eyebrow kit in this section as well as one of my lash curlers and my tweezers. The next section up, on the left holds all of my cream eye shadows. I believe every single one of them is from ELF. And then the right hand section holds all of my maybelline color tattoos and my one Mac paint pot in painterly.

The next drawer holds smaller eyeshadow palettes. Single eyeshadow, eyeshadow duos, trios and some quads. The back section on the left just holds my eyeliner sharpeners. Not really sure why they are in this drawer and not my drawer. Must have just been the drawer I had space in. The section on the right has my false lashes, lash glue and the like. The section on the left, in front of those has some random eyeshadow singles, duos and quads. I have a bunch from Elf, but I also have some from wet n wild, urban decay and NYC. Next to that is all of my Elf brightening eye color quads, as well as some duos from elf, and the Elf studio single shadows that I own. In the front section I just have a couple of Urban Decay Palettes, and a couple sephora eyeshadow singles.

The last drawer in helmer unit houses the rest of my palettes. I have a couple of the Elf holiday "books". I have the Elf villainous villainous villains palettes, my BH cosmetics 120 colors palette and some other palettes in there.

So that pretty much wraps up my makeup collection. I do have another helmer unit that contains things like makeup remiover, hair tools and my nail polish but I will go over that helmer in a separate post. Probably, when I do that, I will also post an in-depth nail polish collection as well.

Falling for Fall: Face/outfit/nail of the day

Just last week I was going on about how summer isn't over and how I am not ready for fall. then I woke up this morning walked outside and it was 55 degrees. A preview of Autumn, certainly! I had forgotten how much I love fall. It's my favorite season. And while I think this year is going by plenty fast without wishing for fall to arrive sooner, I do adore the cooler weather we are having today. And, I love being able to pull out some warmer clothes and rock a more fall-toned makeup look!

I was quite fond of the way it turned out. Also, please excuse the messy nail photos. Dark colors are much less forgiving than the summer colors I have been reaching for lately, and I didn't clean up the edges before taking these photos! Leave me a comment below if you have any questions, request or suggestions! I hope you enjoyed this post.

My most worn summer lip combinations

In the summer, I tend to pretty much do the same make up everyday. It's hot, and we're always on the go, and so I tend to reach for the same products again and again out of ease. So most days, my look is pretty much the same. The one thing that I do to mix it up a bit is to wear different lip products, even if the rest of my face routine pretty much remains unchanged. So, while I was cleaning out my handbag, and switching my things over to a different one, I realized that I had a ton of lip products in my bag. Whenever I am going somewhere, I tend to toss the lip products I am wearing into my bag for touch ups. The products in my bag, therefor, tend to be my most worn. Before I put the products back into my collection, I figured I would share with you what they were!

1. Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Creme Brulee and Elf luscious liquid lipstick in caramel candy- This is my ultimate favorite nude lip. It's nude without being flat, so it doesn't give you that sort of dead mannequin look that some nude lip sticks do. this combination makes for a nice sheen that brings life to your face, while keeping it neutral enough so that I can rock a more colorful blush if I want. This combination is also great when you're wearing a fun brightly colored eye look.

2. Elf Studio Matte Lip Color in Coral and Elf Glossy Gloss in Dragon Fruit- This lip combo just screams summer to me. something about the corally-pink color just makes me think of fun days at the beach and picnics in the park. I love it. The matte lip color is a bit harsh on it's own, in my opinion, but with that shiny shade of gloss it's the perfect summer pout!

3.Elf essential lipstick in flirtatious and Elf plumping lip glaze in oasis- I wear this combo so much it ought to be a crime. But, I can't help it! I love the bright blue-based bubble gum pink, and the shimmery sparkle of oasis on top is so pretty.

4. Elf essential lipstick in gypsy and Love and Beauty Lip Gloss in shimmery sheer pink- Gypsy is such a beautiful lipstick color. When I first got it I was a little intimidated, but it is the prettiest purpl-y fuchsia color. It can be sheered out for the prettiest sheer lip, or built;t up for a crazy pop of color. I like it best worn a bit sheerer. And the pink shimmery gloss from forever 21 adds a gorgeous sheen that brings it up a notch!

5. NYC lipstick in sheer Red and Elf lucious liquid lipstick in Ruby Slipper- I have never really been a fan of red lips. But this lipstick makes red lips a no brainer. It's a sheer, very wearable red. It can be worn in a single layer and be appropriate for day, or built up for a gorgeous night time red. Paired with the sheer red gloss from elf, it makes for the perfect summer date night lip!

So there ya have it. there's my most worn lip combos as of late! I hope you enjoyed this post! What are some of your favorite lip color combinations for summer? Leave me a comment below and let me know!

Summer Must Haves!

I wanted to do a fun summer themed post. Rather than do something that I have already done before, like a nail polish picks post, or something of the like, I decided to share with you all some of my favorite, must have summer products, items and accessories! I just thought this would be a fun little blog post. So without furthur ado, let's get started!

Must have summer hair products:

These are my go to hair products for summer. In the summertime, I don't tend to use a lot of heat on my hair. I spend a lot more time outdoors in the summer than I do any other time of the year, and the heat and the sun are enough stress on my hair, in my opinion. So I tend to do one of two things. Either I pull it back away from my face, or I scrunch my hair. When I am wearing it pulled back, or just natural, I add a bit of the L'oreal Eversleek Humidity Defying Leave in Creme to my damp hair to keep away the frizzies. This is a great creme, and it really helps to keep my hair from frizzing like crazy, especially when it's especially humid outside. When I am scrunching my hair, i've been using the Beyond the Zone Super Sexy Texture and distort wave spray. This stuff is so good. It gives my hair a ton of texture and makes it look super tousled and beach-like, while keeping the waves in place all day. It doesn't leave my hair feeling super crunchy and has a nice fruity smell.

And of course, sometimes I just cannot avoid using heat. When I am going for that super straight look, I just have to have the aid of my blow dryer and my flat iron. So when I do use heat, I want the style to last me for a couple of days. So I use my Suave dry shampoo to absorb any oil or dirt that builds up in my hair, and this allows me to go that extra day without washing! I love this dry shampoo. I like it more the more and more I use it. It's a definite must have for summer!

Must Have Summer Shoes!

I am such a shoes girl, and narrowing this list down was so so hard for me. I wanted to include every single pair of shoes that I own. But, I narrowed it down to just a select few.

Flip Flops- Pictured above are my purple Flip Flops that I purchased last summer at Old Navy for something like $2.50. The price was so good that I purchased them in other colors as well. I got them in yellow, green, pink and blue also. I wear them all constantly in the summer. Flip Flops are a definite must have for summertime for me!

Slip Ons- I love any type of shoe that I can just slip on and go. the ones I pictured above actually were purchased for me from a garage sale, and I was ecstatic when I was given them, because they are so cute! They are from the brand Airwalk, and the pink and white color motif just screams summer to me! I adore these. I have similar types of shoes in varying patterns and styles that I also wear a ton in the summer! So cute!

Sneakers- I don't wear a ton of sneakers. Especially in the summertime. Who wants their feet all closed off and sweating when you can throw on a cute pair of sandals so much easier. But when I must wear a shoe like this, I lie them to be the style pictured above. The ones in the photo are a Ked style sneaker (sort of, how would you describe these?) from Faded Glory. i picked these up from the men's shoe department at walmart last year sometime for around 11 dollars. These are so super comfortable, and I think they are adorable, and go with just everything.

Ballet Flats- I love ballet flats! I think that they are perfect for dressing up a super casual outfit, or dressing down a super fancy outfit. They are also so easy to just slip on as you're going out the door. The ones pictured above are a pair of blush colored patent flats I got at Target for under 15 dollars. These ones are super cute for a date night! I also have ballet flats in black as well as Red, and I think this is the type of shoe that never really goes out of style. I definitely intend to rock these all summer long, and want to add more to my shoe collection in the very near future!

Wedges- Lastly, I love, love, love wedges in the summer. I think these are the perfect summer shoe. When the rest are too casual, wedges are great to dress up an outfit, and add some height! They are so much more comfortable than heels or stilettos, but are still a dressier alternative than flats. They come in a variety of cute styles! The ones above are a pair of denim flats I purchased at Payless shoe source a year or two ago for around 25 dollars, if I am not mistaken. They have the cutest cork detail on the wedge itself. These aren't the most comfortable wedges in the world- there are definitely more comfortable options out there (look for a pair with a bit of a platform!) But this style of shoe is a definite must have for summer in my opinion!

Must Have Summer Accessories!

I tend to wear fairly simple outfits in the summertime. Usually just shorts and a T-shirt. I leave it to my accessories to jazz up the outfits. Here are some of my favorite accessories for Summer!

Hats- nothing is more attractive than a cute hat. Especially when it means that your face is protected from the hot sun! Nothing stops the summer fun faster than a sunburn, and exposing your skin to the harsh rays of the sun is so unhealthy. That's why I love this big floppy hat that I purchased a couple of months ago at Walmart. They have these type of hats absolutely everywhere. They come in so many styles and colors, there's really no excuse not to rock a super cute sun hat this summer! Hats like these are especially important for me, because, since I wear glasses, and absolutely cannot see without them, I cannot wear sunglasses, unless I buy the clip on style and I have NEVER found any cute clip on sunglasses (If you know of any PLEASE point me in that direction!) So a hat like this really helps protect my eyes from the sun!

Earrings- I tend to go for large or statement earrings in the summer. Whether my hair is pulled back from my face or left natural, I think that they draw attention and bring the eye up toward your face. Pictured above: Gold Hoops that I have had forever, not sure where they are from. Silver black and jade dreamcatcher earrings from Forever 21. When I am not wearing statement earrings, I like to go with studs in a bright color, so that they still catch the light and add a punch of color to any outfit. The ones above are, obviously, from forever 21. I got the whole pack for something like 3 dollars and 80 cents! Can't beat forever 21 for their inexpensive prices!

Bracelets- I don't wear a ton of necklaces in the summer. I feel like oftentimes, having something around my neck is just way too hot. That's why I love to rock a ton of bracelets in the hotter months. I love all kinds of bracelets, whether it be beaded bracelets, jelly bracelets, charm bracelets or bangles. I love stacking lots of different bracelets as well for a cool look! Pictured above are several bracelets from varying places including walmart, forever 21 and Target.

SPF!

Lastly, but probably most importantly is SPF! Please, whenever you are going outside, remember to wear sunblock to protect your skin from the sun. In this day and age, knowing what we do about the damage the sun can cause to our health, there really is no excuse not to protect your skin to the best of your ability. Commonly missed areas of the body that you need to remember to hit with that SPF? Your scalp, if you aren't wearing a hat, the ears, and the back of the neck! Also, don't neglect your lips either! Lots of people remember their sunblock on their body and their face but neglect their lips! There are tons of Balms and Glosses out there with SPF (I love the maybelline baby lips!) so be sure to pick one up and reapply often!

Well, that's it for this round of summer must haves! I mayhttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif come back to ya'll with another post similar to this featuring my must have fragrances and Body products for summer as well, so if you are interested in seeing that, please leave me a comment below letting me know! Mini Forever 21 Haul

I do a lot of shopping for cosmetics. I love make up and that's what I dedicate a lot of my time and money to. So, most of my hauls are centered around that. But, occasionally I shop for other stuff too. haha. So a couple weeks ago I put in an order with Forever21.com I thought I'd share what I picked up. It's not much, but I figured it would be a nice change from showing you all more lipsticks and eye shadows (but never fear, I have another make up haul coming soon!)

I love Forever 21's jewelry and accessories. They are so inexpensive, trendy and cute. Now, it's not stuff that is going to last forever. You definitely get your money's worth, and that's about it. But it's great for accessorizing a plain outfit without dropping a wad of cash. And since the stuff is so inexpensive, I don't really mind too much when it gets lost, or broken. Because really, I am only out a couple of bucks when that inevitably happens.

So enough chit chat. Let's get on with this tiny haul.

I picked up four items. With shipping (which was nearly as much as the items I purchased, but I don't have a forever 21 close by, so shopping at a brick an mortar store is not an option) I spent 20 dollars. So yeah, I think I got some good deals.

The first item I picked up was this adorable bow bracelet. It's just plastic, or vinyl or whatever, but it's super cute and girly. This cost me $1.80

The next item is another bracelet. Up until I made this purchase I did not have a single cuff bracelet. Which is insane to me because I love the way they look. So I just picked out this cram colored one. I thought it would be pretty to dress up an outfit or to wear out on a date with my hubby. This one cost $1.80 also

The last jewelry item I picked up were a pair of earrings. These earrings are what prompted me to place the order in the first place. I saw them and instantly fell in love. They are a little out there and nothing like anything I already own. But I thought they were so cute, and while they aren't something that I can wear everyday I thought they would be a great statement piece, and I know I will get a lot of wear out of them in the summer months. These ones cost me $5.80

And lastly I just picked up a loop scarf. I love scarves, and I have a few in various colors and styles, but I did not have a black one. I thought this one was super cute and not just your average black scarf. Plus it was only 4 dollars!

So that's it. That's my tiny haul. Do you shop at forever 21? Do you like their clothing and accessories? Leave me a comment below and let me know what you think about the items I picked up!
