Every time I do these favorite posts, I marvel at how fast time is going. Didn't I JUST do my 2011 yearly favorites? And now here it is February already. Anyway, I don't have too many favorites this month. In fact, there are so few that I almost didn't even make this post, but I want to talk about one item that really failed me this month, so I figured I would go ahead and do this anyway. But before I get to the fail, let me go over the faves.
My first favorite that I used every single day in January, and actually, every single day since I purchased it is the ELF 1 dollar eyelid primer in Sheer. This stuff is amazing. It makes my eyeshadow last all day long. It applies smooth and silky and does wonders for making eye shadow colors pop. This might just be my most used make up item, and I don't think I've given it nearly enough love, so I wanted to feature it in my January Favorites.
My second Favorite for the month of January is another Elf product. Again, it's not flashy or fancy but I use it every day without even thinking about it. It's again from the $1 essential line and it's the wet gloss lash and brow clear mascara. I use it every day to tame my brows, and it's a great basic necessity that would be a valuable asset to anyone's make up collection.
My last favorite of the month is a nail polish, and you all know that I looked high and low for this nail polish. I finally found it at the beginning of January, and let me tell you I have re-painted my nails at least 4 times with it over the course of the month. It's Revlon Scandalous. It's a gorgeous black base with large purple hex glitter. It's stunning. It's a dupe for a Deborah Lippman polish called Bad Romance. Bad Romance is incredibly expensive as far as nail polishes go, so when I heard Revlon made a dupe for it, I jumped at the chance to get it. the original nail polish was called Facets of Fuchsia, and I could not find it anywhere. I searched high and low and just couldn't get my hands on it. so when I heard that Revlon was re-releasing the same nail polish under a new name- Scandalous- I once again went on the search for it. I finally found it at Ulta, and I absolutely love it. So worth all of the trouble I went through to finally get my hands on it!
Lastly I want to talk to you guys about a product that completely failed for me. It's the Tresemme Fresh Start strengthening Dry Shampoo. I just hauled this, and was so excited to try it out. I had never used a dry shampoo before, but was anxious to try this one and see what the results would be. Well, I picked a BAD one to use for the first time. It sprayed out nicely, and had a nice smell, but the dry shampoo actually made my hair look and feel greasy, which is the exact opposite of what a dry shampoo should do. I tried it a couple more times after that, using less, and more and varying the way I applied it- rubbing it in, brushing it through, and every time it was the same oily greasy result. So, unfortunately, this product was a total fail for me. Which is a shame because I normally love Tresemme products! Oh well, I won't let this deter me, I will let you all know if and when I find a great dry shampoo!
So that's it. Have you tried any of these products? What did you think of them? What were some of your favorite and least favorite products of the month? Leave a comment down below and let me know!

Im glad you told us about the dry shampoo. I have been wanting to try one as well. because I have to wash my hair everyday or my bangs and the top of my head get really greasy. I know its not healthy for your hair to wash it everyday so I have been wanting to try one of these for my bangs. Also I have been looking for and eyebrow tammer. I had used that when I was younger but havent been able to find it in a long time. Would you mind telling me where you got it?
I picked up the brow gel at target in the elf section. It costs a dollar! If you can't find it at target, you can also order it online from eyeslipsface.com
As far as dry shampoo, I haven't tried it myself but I hear that the one by suave is really good. That's the one I plan to purchase and try out next so I will be sure to let you know what I think of it after I get it!
