Valentine's Day gift ideas for Men and Kids!

I am so sorry you guys! I meant to get this up sooner, and I just got totally swamped with other things. But, I managed to get it up before valentine's day and that counts for something right? haha

Today I am going to be sharing with you my ideas for valentine's day gifts for men as well as for kids!
I find men to be particularly hard to shop for. I think that women, in general, tend to be much easier to find gifts for. Men, or at least the man in my life, tend to be very simple, and not require a whole lot. Still, you want to show your man some appreciation on this special love filled day, right? Kids are generally pretty easy to shop for as well, but maybe you're just stumped as to what to get! Here are just a few simple ideas!

Cards and Candy
Men like to get cards and candy too! This is a pretty universal gift that works for just about everyone! Pick up a sweet card and write in a nice sentiment. Sure, not all men are super romantic, but that doesn't mean they won't appreciate the thought you put into the words on the page. And of course, men like candy, too! You can't go wrong with a classic chocolate bar. Or if the man in your life likes a specific candy, let's say he's a sour patch kids junkie, get him a bunch of those! You know best what he will like! And of course, kids love all sorts of candy. You can do chocolate for them too. But think outside the box, too! There are tons of super cute valentine's day themed candies. How about a cute pez despenser? Or some pink and red M&Ms?

Baked Goods and food
The way to a man's heart is his stomach! That's an expression for a reason. Men love to get food items as gifts! If your man has a sweet tooth, baked him up a batch of his favorite cookies or brownies. If he's more into savory treats why not bake him a fresh loaf of bread, or whip up a delicious dip for him to snack on with some chips? Chocolate covered pretzels are an awesome salty/sweet treat that everyone loves and it's super easy to make! Of course, if you aren't much of a chef or baker you can always purchase these goodies already pre made. He will never know the difference!

Kids love baked goods too! A Batch of cupcakes with red icing would be super cute! Make a bunch and send them to class with your child so they can share them with their class mates! Cookies are super easy and great for sharing, also!

Don't forget, you can always whip up a nice family friendly valentine's day meal at home that you can share with the men in your life. I, personally, am planning on making healthy low calorie heart shaped pizzas! Maybe I will include them in my next weigh in wednesday post, so you can see how they turned out! 

Toys
When you think of toys I am sure you assumed I meant for the kids, right? Well, I did, but men like toys too! Men are all really just children at heart, anyway! haha. Pick up a vintage toy that the man in your life will remember from his childhood. How cute would that be? And grab up a fun board game to play with the kids while you are at it!

Movies
Just like women, a great gift for men, or for kids is a DVD and a movie night! Pick a fun movie that you are sure they will like and wrap it up with a bag of popcorn, some sodas and a box of candy! That would be a super cute idea!

Liquor/Wine
This one is not for the kids! haha. Grab a nice bottle of wine or your man's favorite liquor and share a valentine's day cocktail! It's a great gift you can both enjoy!!

Stuffed Animals
This one is more for the kids, but this could work for the man in your life too! Pick up a cute stuffed animal that your kids can sleep with and cuddle!

Jewelry
Men wear jewelry too! Pick out a nice bracelet or a nice watch for the man in your life.

Gadgets
What man doesn't like electronics? There are a ton of different gadgets out there these days. From phones, to computers to Ipods and Ipads. There are cameras of dozens of different varieties and GPS units. Tons of things you can choose from and you are sure to put a smile on his face when you pick just the right one! Kids like gadgets too, don't forget :)

Valentine's Day Gift Ideas for women!

Valentine's Day is just around the corner. I know not everyone is a fan of this holiday, but I sure am! If you are looking for ideas as to what to get the lady in your life, whether she be your girlfriend, your wife, your mother, your sister, your daughter or just a friend, you have come to the right place. I've got ideas in lots of different price ranges, so hopefully there will be something for everyone here!

Flowers

It might seem cliche to give the lady in your life flowers for valentine's day, but trust me, there is a reason that it's a cliche. There aren't many women in the world who wouldn't love to get a bouquet of flowers from a man she loves. Roses are a classic choice, of course, but you don't have to go there. Switch it up. Think tulips or daisies if roses are too romantic for you. Or roses in a different color than the classic red. The classic red rose says, "I love you". Pink roses signify appreciation, while yellow roses can signify friendship. If the lady in your life is the type who claims sh doesn't like flowers, because they die, then maybe go for a potted flower that she can care for and watch it grow.

Chocolate

Sweets for the sweet. Chocolate is one of the number one gifts to give on Valentine's Day. Especially when combined with flowers or other gifts from this list. There are a ton of novelty chocolates that you can pick up for the special day. The classic heart shaped box of chocolates can be purchased at just about any grocery store right now. There are also tons of other options. You can get M & M's customized these days with initials of you and your loved one, which is cute and thoughtful. There are hershey's kisses in all different sizes. You can even purchase chocolate flowers! The sky is the limit when it comes to chocolate on valentine's day! One of my favorite ways to do chocolate on valentine's day? Chocolate covered strawberries. They are delicious and just scream love and romance to me!

Cards

Whatever you decide to get for your significant other, whoever she may be, don't forget the card! The card is where you can write your thoughts and feelings and share them with her. Whether it be a simple, "Thank you for being a friend" or a declaration of love, the card is quite possibly the most important part! You can purchase a card, of course, but I think homemade cards are even better. They show that you took the time and thought ahead!

Jewelry

I guess none of these ideas so far are especially creative, but it wouldn't be a valentine's day gift guide if I didn't include the classics, right? Jewelry is no exception. It's another one of those gifts that is cliche for a reason. There are tons of options, and you don't have to spend a ton of money to get the woman you love a little sparkle. There are a ton of valentine's day sales going on right now. Get your lady a classic heart pendant, or a little sparkle for her ears. Buying for a friend, or your daughter? Charm bracelets are super cute and perfect for the occasion!

Pamper Her!

I don't know a woman alive who wouldn't want to get a gift certificate for a spa or a massage on valentine's day. This gift is perfect for just about anyone in your life. Your girlfriend would love a gift like this, but so would your mother! Every woman deserves a little pampering, but let's face it, most woman are too busy taking care of everyone else to take that time out for themselves. So make it happen! Another great idea is a gift certificate to have her hair done or to get a manicure or a pedicure!

Food

Every woman's gotta eat! Surprise her by making her a nice dinner at home. There are zillions of recipes online if you aren't the most accomplished cook. You don't have to get all fancy, but I think just about anyone would love to be surprised with a home cooked meal for two (or more!) Really can't cook? Take her out for a nice meal at her favorite restaurant or order in! Have to be apart on Valentine's day? Have a special meal delivered to her, or send her a fruit basket! Just anything to let her know you are thinking of her!

Movies!

You can, of course, take your girl out to a movie on valentine's day. But I would suggest having movie night at home. Pick out a super romantic movie, pop some popcorn and enjoy a romantic movie night! Then gift her the DVD so that she will always remember the special night you shared, and be able to watch it over and over again!

Coffees or Teas

Just about everyone loves coffee or tea. So why not get her one of her favorites? There are tons of super cute little gift baskets you can buy, but you can put one together yourself! How about a package of her favorite coffee, cream and her sweetener of choice, with a valentine's day themed mug? Or if she prefers tea, how about a variety of different tea bags with a heart mug? It's a useful and thoughtful gift. Of course, you can't go wrong with a starbucks (or her coffee house of choice) gift card!

Cosmetics

I am such a beauty girl. And I think getting makeup on valentine's day would be awesome! This is a great gift for you to buy a friend! If you're single and having a girls night, why not put together a little treat bag with cosmetic goodies. Physicians Formula has a ton of products with hearts on them, which I think would be super cute on Valentine's Day! Add a pink lip gloss and a red nail polish and you're good to go! In face, just about anything in the pink/red/white color scheme would work for this!

Fragrances

Perfume on Valentine's day is a great idea! Everyone likes to smell nice, right? There are so many fragrances in so many price ranges out there! Get her a bottle of her favorite perfume, and you're sure to put a smile on her face. Or why not get her something new to try? Vera Wang's love struck has the perfect name for the occasion and the bottle is absolutely beautiful. If you are looking for something a little less expensive, try a fragrance mist. I love the Sexiest Fantasies Love Struck body mist. Same sentiment as the vera wang at a much more inexpensive price. Both of these fragrance smell so good!
