Haul!

I am addicted to shopping lately. Well, who am I kidding? I've always been addicted to shopping. So I have a haul for you. This weekend I made purchases at Walmart, Sally Beauty and Dollar Tree.

First was Walmart. I went there to search for a good foundation. I wanted something with medium to full coverage, but after looking at the zillion different choices, I decided to just hold off on that for now, and instead picked up a tube of New York Color Skin Matching foundation- I'm in the shade 686 Light. I paid 3 dollars and change for it. I like it! It's a light coverage foundation. I would classify it as more of a tinted moisturizer. It will do until I decide on a full coverage foundation. I keep going back and forth between Neutrogena Healthy skin and Revlon color stay. Any suggestions?

Also while I was at Walmart I picked up New York Color smooth Skin pressed powder. I got it in translucent. This is literally the best pressed powder I have ever used. It gives my face a great finish, and it blends beautifully. I think I paid around 3-4 dollars for it.

I picked up a Liquid Concealer as well. Also from the brand New York Color. I believe it's in the shade light as well. I like it. It's not the best concealer I've ever used, but it works well enough, and the price point is great. I think I paid between 2-3 dollars for it.

The last thing I picked up from walmart is a New York Color nail polish (can you tell that I really love this brand of cosmetics?) The color is Plaza Plumberry. It's a deep dark purple. It's almost black, actually, without the harshness a true black gives. The color reminds me of a black berry. It's gorgeous and great for fall. (the nail polish is pictured below- with the other polishes)

Next, I went to Sally Beauty. It was the first time I have ever been in that store, and oh my gosh, I could spend hours there! From here I got a few nail polishes (shocker, right?) First I picked up a seche vite top coat. I was in desperate need of a top coat, and this one is the best I've ever used. I paid 7 dollars for it- and it's well worth it. It's got a bad smell, but it dries quickly, and does a great job. I'll probably never use another top coat. It's that good. I also picked up one of the sets from the china glaze holiday collection. I got the seasonal Sparkles set. It cost me 7.99. It comes with one bottle of "Holly Day"- a beautiful green color- one bottle of poinsetta- a great christmassy red- and one bottle of twinkle lights, which is a gorgeous glitter polish. It's a clear base with tiny pieces of red, gold and green glitter. I also picked up a tiny bottle of Ruby Pumps- which is a red polish with tons of red glitter. I think it was like 1.99. It's gorgeous, I'll definitely be picking up a full size bottle when I finish the mini one. I swatched the nail polishes below. It's not the greatest picture in the world, but it will give you an idea of the colors. Each nail has just one coat of nail polish (except the one where I layered a glitter polish on top of one), with no base or top coat. They are all pretty opaque for just one coat! The only one I didn't swatch was the NYC plaza plumberry- which I am sure you will see a NOTD on sooner or later.

Left to right- Poinsettia, ruby pumps, holly-day with twinkle lights layered on top, twinkle lights on it's own.

Lastly, we went to the dollar tree to pick up a few things, and of course, while I was there, I had to go down the beauty aisle. I didn't get much. Just some necessities. I picked up a bottle of nail polish removed, some cotton balls, and a pair of gloves. Exciting huh? All of these were- of course- a dollar a piece.

So that's it for my haul. What do you think of these haul posts? Do you find them interesting or fun, or would you rather see other blogs instead? Leave a comment below and let me know! Also, I've got a few blog posts in the works. A mascara comparison and review, a make up tutorial, and a holiday wish list post. Be on the look out for those!

I thought they were great. And as for what cover up you were thinking about getting. I guess it depends on for how long you want the foundation on for. Nutregena is a very good product to keep your skin clear from blemishes. But with me at work I have to have a foundation that stays put for a very long time without wearing off. So I use revlons color stay. You just have to remember to wash it off at the end of the night because it will not wear off. Intern your skin will break out a little bit over a period of time if you dont. But it is a very good full coverage foundation. Good luck!

thanks for your opinion! I think I am eventually just going to get both and try them out. I think that is really the only thing that is going to get me to make the decision. lol.
