I think one of the best products that you can get from E.L.F. is their essential line brightening eye color quads. These quads come in a variety of different shades, and only cost a dollar. I thought I would start a series where I give you a look at the quads that I own! I thought I would start with punk funk. This is a great little quad with some really fun, bright shades for spring/summer.
The E.L.F. brightening eye color quads contain, of course, four different eyeshadows. The packaging in a white case, with a clear lid. It's not the most sturdy packaging in the world, but it's pretty decent for a dollar. The quads also each feature a small mirror, and a sponge tip applicator.
Punk Funk contains a white shade, a blue shade, a purple shade and a pink shade. Each shade contains shimmer, but only the glitter in the pink shade really shows up on the skin. The colors are a bit powdery, but blendable, and appear very vibrant over a primer. On their own they are less pigmented and do fade. But with the proper base these can last all day and stay bold and vibrant. Here the colors are swatched on bare skin (no primer or base). Photo taken with flash.
I created a look with this quad. I thought it turned out very pretty. I used the white shade as a brow bone and inner corner highlight. I used the pink all over my lid. The purple I used in the crease as well as to darken up the outer corner of the eye, and i used the blue as a liner. You can see I blended the ink and purple very well, so you almost can't tell where the one stops and the other begins. What do you think of this bright, fun look? Perhaps not great for everyday wear, if you are more of a neutral fan, but definitely fun!
Overall this is one of my favorite Elf quads. It's a great fun little palette at a great price! It allows me to play with color without breaking the bank!
