Mani Monday: Halloween

Hey guys! I am so sorry that I haven't been participating in Mani Monday lately. I've just been feeling rather uninspired lately. But no more, this week's theme is Halloween and I am fired up! So fired up, in fact, that today kicks off the first of 4 Halloween manis that I have ideas for. If everything goes as planned, hopefully I will post a new halloween themed mani everyday until Halloween! But for now let's show off this one for Mani Monday!

How cute are these adorable little glow in the dark ghost face nails? And super easy! I started out by painting two coats of the Wet n Wild Wild Shine polish in French White, and then topped that with a coat of the Sinful Colors Glow in the dark Polish. Once it was all dry I just used a dotting tool and added the eyes and mouths using Sinful Colors Black on Black. Easy peasy. These are so cute, and super awesome looking in the dark! Love them!

I hope you'll pop by tomorrow and see my next Halloween themed mani! Fingers crossed it turns out as cute in reality as it looks in my head! haha. Thanks for stopping by!

Mani Monday: Fall!

Another Monday which means it's time for another Mani Monday post! Are you excited? I'm excited! This week's theme is fall and I had SO many ideas for fall manis. I literally wrote had about 5 different ideas that I could have done but ultimately I decided to do something pretty simple!

I started out with two coats of a Julep polish that I managed to snag off their website for a steal! i had a coupon code for 50% off and this polish was on sale for $7.99! When I plugged in the code. it took 7 dollars off the polish, and since shipping was free, I got it for just 99 cents! The polish screams fall for me! It;s a matte suede polish in the color Minka. It's a redd-y brown sort of rust shade with a beautiful matte finish. It's such an awesome finish. Honestly, I could have just polished my nails with this and called it done and it would be perfect for the fall theme!

But of course, I am never one to leave well enough alone, so I decided I was going to add an accent nail using one of the nail polishes from sinful colors' halloween collection. It's pumpkin spice which is a beautiful mixture of gold and red glitter that just screams "Fall" to me! Well, when I painted it as an accent nail, I liked the way it looked so much that I went ahead and painted it onto all of my nails. Since pumpkin spice has a clear base, you could still see a bit of minka shining through with one coat of the glitter and it just looks beautiful in my opinion. The perfect fall mani!

Mani Monday: A total fail in stripes!

Are you ready to laugh? What I am about to share with you is possibly the worst manicure I have ever done. It's bad. Laughable even. Honestly, I wouldn't even be showing you at all if it weren't for the fact that this week's mani monday theme is stripes. And despite my talent at stripes, I wanted to participate. So I did my best. It's ok if you laugh, honestly. I'll never know.

I wanted to do some sort of autumn-like theme, so I started out with a base color of a gorgeous copper-y colored polish- China Glaze Harvest Moon. It's so pretty. A very nice metallic copper with some really killer sparkle!

Then I grabbed my L.A. Colors art Deco striper polish in black and added some vertical stripes on each nail. They're a little sloppy, and I am not thrilled with at all with the finished look, but I did my best so I thought it was worth sharing!

Here's the finished product! I hope you enjoy or at least got a laugh! haha. Come back next week and check out my favorite nude polish!

Mani Monday: Fancy French

Good morning, friends, and welcome back to my blog for another mani monday post! This time, the theme is Fancy French! Would you believe I have never given myself a french manicure? I think it's a great, classic look, but something that I would get bored with pretty quickly. So rather than your average run of the mill french mani, I decided to throw in a little twist.

I started out by applying a coat of base coat. The base coat I am currently using is the Revlon quick dry base coat. It really does dry quick and protects my natural nails. Next, I applied two thin coats of the Nailtini polish in frappe. It's a gorgeous sheer nude color, that I thought would be perfect as a classic french manicure base color.

Then I dug out my stamping gear and got to work. I chose the bundle monster plate number BM17, which is a french tip plate. And I did the stamping using te wet n wild wild shine polish in black creme. I tried it using the wet n wild wild shine white polish first, but the white didn't show up against the super pale base color, so I went with black instead.

I chose the cute little checkerboard design, and stamped it as straight as possible. You can see in the photos of the finished product that it's not perfect. Stamping straight is tricky business. So it's a little crooked here and there and maybe a little smudged, but overall I am pleased with the finished look. Not bad for my second real stab at stamping! I am really loving it!

So there's my fancy french mani for you! I admit, it's not the prettiest french manicure ever, but it's a little different and I think the pattern reminds me of tire tracks, which is fun! haha. I wanted something different and I think I definitely achieved that. what do you think of this mani? Leave me a comment down below, or hit use my contact card below and get in touch! Mani Mondays Favorite Red! Sinful Colors Sugar Sugar!

Hey everyone and welcome to another Mani Monday! This Week's theme was favorite red! Red is such a classic color, and when I was looking through my polish stash, I was surprised to see that is one of the least represented colors in my collection. Don't get me wrong, I have quite a few reds! But the number of reds in my collection when compared to, say, blues or greens, is surprisingly small. Still picking out my favorite red? Not so easy for me! But I managed to do it!!

The red that I chose for my Monday Mani is Sinful Colors Sugar Sugar!

Sinful Colors Sugar Sugar is a gorgeous, true red with a lot of teensy tiny micro glitter in it, which makes this red looks almost metallic on the nails! It is such a beauty! I think it's the perfect red for the holiday season or for a classic pedicure, or even just alone on the nails. I think it's a great red that can be worn all year 'round! It's completely opaque and even in two coats and lasts and lasts! It's definitely one of my favorite reds in my collection. I originally planned on doing some black stamp work on top, but some family issues popped up and I didn't get the chance. But I am ok with that, because this color really deserves to be showcased on it's own! It's so pretty!

Mani Monday: Back to school! Newspaper Nails!!

Sorry this post is a little late. I had a full day today with it being Labor day, and with getting the kids ready for their first day of school tomorrow! Speaking of school, that's the theme for this week's Mani Monday! I have already seen some of the manis my fellow nail polish addicts in our facebook group have done and they are awesome! I highly recommend you check out the group and feel free to join in with us! It's so fun! www.facebook.com/manimondays

I am not all that talented at nail art, so I had to think long and hard about what I wanted to do for the back to school theme. I decided I wanted my nails to look like they had been printed like a page of a book. I thought about stamping an image, but I am still not that great at stamping. So, finally, I landed on a mani that I haven't done in quite a while. Newspaper nails!

I started out with a base color. I used a shade of polish from sinful colors called Easy going. It's a really pretty baby pink creme finish polish that was opaque in two coats. It made the perfect base! It was completely opaque in two coats and is a lovely shade with my skin tone.

Next, I cut out small squares from a newspaper large enough to cover my nails.

When my nail polish was completely dry, I poured some rubbing alcohol into a shot glass.

I then proceeded to dip my nails, one at a time, into the rubbing alchohol and then immediately press a strip of newspaper on to the nail, causing the news print to transfer onto my nails. Simple as that. It gives an awesome printed look to the nails, no artistic talent necessary, so it's perfect for me! The last step is to apply a top coat to keep the print from rubbing off of the nails.

And voila! the perfect back to school nails! Super easy! Super cute!

Mani Monday: Dots

Hello everyone and happy Monday! I hope the start of your week is treating you well. I find myself looking forward to Mondays more often than not these days and it's all because of Mani Mondays. It's an awesome group of polish loving ladies on facebook. Each week, we all get together and post our manis, which are created around a theme. This week's theme is dots, and I couldn't wait to pull out my dotting tools and create an awesome dotticure!

I decided, rather than doing dots on all my nails, that I would focus on some dotted accent nails. I started out by painting my middle and ring fingers a gorgeous light pink by wet n wild megalast line in Sugar Coat. It's super pretty, and for such a light colored polish, I was surprised to see it opaque in two coats. I love the megalast line of polishes, as you well know if you've been reading my blog for a while, and this is one of my faves!

I then painted my pinkie, index finger and thumb in a beautiful shade from Elf, called Dazzle Diva. This one is sort of hard to describe. It's sort of a grey-blue-green shade with a subtle pink shimmer. It's very unique. This polish is a bit thick, which meant dry time was a little slower than I would have liked, but I think the color is worth the wait!

Then, with one of my smallest dotting tools, I went into that same, dazzle diva shade and dotted on top of my accent nails to bring the look together.

All in all I am very satisfied with the overall look of this mani! I like that the dots are prominent but not so over the top, making this a more subtle dotticure!

So that's it for this installment of mani mondays! If you would liek to join us in our fun, be sure to check out the mani mondays facebook page here: www.facebook.com/manimondays

Mani Monday! Glitter!

If you're a regular reader of my blog, you already know all about Mani Mondays. It's myself and a group of totally awesome nail polish junkies like me who get together every Monday to share our manis, tha are created around a theme. You should definitely check us out on facebook, and join us if you would like! It's super fun! www.facebook.com/manimondays This week's theme is glitter, and let me tell you, I couldn't be more excited, because I absolutely love manicure chocked full of glitter!!

I definitely feel like my mani that I did last week totally fir the glitter theme. It's a very sort of chrismtassy feeling manicure and I will definitely be busting out this combo around the holidays this year. I went with a really pretty sort of raspberry color for my base. It's Ulta's nail lacquer in "Grin and Berry It" and then, in order to fit the glitter theme, I did a coat of Wet n Wild Wild shine polish in Sparked on top! I really love the way these two polishes work together, don't you?

Ulta Salon Formula Nail Lacquer has become one of my favorite nail polish brands. I just recently hauled a bunch when they were on sale marked down from 6 dollars a bottle to just 2 dollars a bottle. Every single polish that I have tried from the line has been fantastic! Grin and Berry it is a really pretty sort of raspberry shade. It looks sort of red in some lights, and sort of purple in others. I would classify this as sort of a bright wine shade, which makes this one pretty uniue. It has a nice sort of pearly-y finish, and it's just beautiful.

The glitter I chose to rock over top of that fun raspeberry shade is Wet n Wild Wild shine polish in sparked. Sparked is a gorgeous glitter that could be worn on it's own if you wanted to build it up to three coats. It's sooo pretty. It's silver and pink glitter and it just really shines on the nail. It's a very high concentration of glitter, but still very easy to work with. I can't testify to how easy it is to get off, as I am still wearing it, but I imagine a little soak in acetone will do the trick, and if all else fails I will bust out the foil method. But even if this polish is a total bear to get off, I won't be too bothered because it is just that pretty!

Overall I am very pleased with the finished manicure. It may not be the most August appropriate combination- it definitely screams holidays to me, but I love it nontheless. I will definitely be pulling this combo out again around Christmas. Both the polishes I worked with applied like a dream and gave me no issues whatsoever! I highly recommend both polishes, both separate and worn together.

Hopefully you guys enjoyed my Monday mani! I enjoyed sharing with you! Be sure to check out Mani Mondays on facebook, and definitely come back next week, when the theme will be Dots! How fun!!
