Angel Costume: Outfit, makeup & nails

I went to a costume party last night, and I wanted to film a video on the makeup I did, but I didn't get a chance to film. So instead, I took a bunch of pictures and I thought I would write up a quick blog post on what I did. I dressed up as an angel. It was a quick costume I threw together from things I had at home on hand, and a few other things I picked up from walmart and Salvation Army. I had a lot of fun creating the costume and the makeup look to go with it!

It was a masquerade party, so I wanted to focus a lot on the eyes, since that's mostly what you could see. I also focused on my complexion, because an angel's skin is bound to be flawless!

 For my makeup I used the following products:

Nails:

For my nails I used Julep's Dana, which is black light reactive and was a total hit at the party. And on top to add a little sparkle I did a coat of Julep's Paris.

Falling for Fall: Face/outfit/nail of the day

Just last week I was going on about how summer isn't over and how I am not ready for fall. then I woke up this morning walked outside and it was 55 degrees. A preview of Autumn, certainly! I had forgotten how much I love fall. It's my favorite season. And while I think this year is going by plenty fast without wishing for fall to arrive sooner, I do adore the cooler weather we are having today. And, I love being able to pull out some warmer clothes and rock a more fall-toned makeup look!

Outfit/Face of the day

Today, I have yet another outfit and face of the day for you. Sorry I haven't been exactly creative with my posts lately. Summer is in full swing and I am enjoying every minute of it. I have quite a few posts coming up in the next few days though, including a haul, a review as well as the first in a couple of different travel prep posts! So be on the lookout for those!

Today, I'm just hanging around the house, maybe running a few errands later, if I feel like it. So, I just straightened my hair using a one inch flat iron I picked up at my local goodwill for $2! (my old one quit working, and I didn't want to invest in a brand new one just yet) I threw on a casual outfit, and flip flops and did a pretty natural face makeup!

I haven't done an outfit of the day post in a while. I am not wearing anything fancy. My attire is super casual as all I am doing is some housework and running a few errands later.

light wash capris- I have had these for as long as I can remember. I have no idea where I got them.
Blue and white canvas shoes- I actually got these at dollar general. So cute, moderately comfortable and only 6 dollars!

earrings are my birthstone and my mom gave them to me for Christmas. They are from avon

Outfit of the day

My husband and I went away to celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary! We left yesterday and came home today so it wasn't a super long trip, but it was a lot of fun. We stayed in a beautiful suite in about an hour away. I wanted to do a make up tutorial on the make up I wore but I didn't have time to write it up before we left. But I did have time to photograph my outfit, so I thought i'd share that with you at least.



The shirt I am wearing came from my mom. I have no idea where she got it. She also gave me the cami I am wearing underneath it. The jeans are from walmart. With the outfit I wore my brown boots which I neglected to take a photo of. I also wore my birthstone necklace.

It was requested that I do more outfit of the day posts. Since it's absolutely beautiful outside (60 degrees) and I am actually leaving the house today I thought today would be a good day to post! So here goes!

The bag I am wearing is from musthavebag.com it's a tano boogie bucket in the color atlantis. I got it last year.


My bow bracelet is from forever 21. The purple bracelet is a gift from my cousin and I wear it all the time! (ignore the random swatches on my hand. i ALWAYS have swatches on my hand lol)

I forgot to get a good picture of my necklace, but it's just a birthstone necklace I got as a christmas gift a couple years ago. I haven't painted my nails yet, but I think I am going to go with a pastel purple in honor of this spring-like day.

Outfit/Face of the day

Today I have an outfit of the day for you. It's cold in Michigan today! I got the sweater from my mom, but there are sweaters like this is stores everywhere right now! It's warm and cozy and a pretty blue color. My black jeans are from Target. My animal print flats come from walmart. My makeup is really simple. I did a purple eye using a variety of purple shadows from my BH cosmetics eyeshadow palette. with just a bit of black eyeliner (bonnebelle) and lots of mascara (ELF). On my lips I'm wearing an old Revlon Lipstick in the shade Blush Chrome. I've had this lipstick forever. I don't even know if it's available anymore. But it's the perfect shade for fall, in my opinion.
