Tag: Cost of my Face of the Day

I did a post like this a while back. You can see that post here! It goes like this. You do your makeup for the day, and then you go back and look at the products you used and calculate how much all of the products on your face costs you. I think this is a fun little post, so I decided to do it again. here are the products I used on my face today.

Rimmel London Fix and Perfect Pro face primer- $6.36
Revlon Colorstay whipped creme Makeup in nude- $10.97
NYC smooth skin liquid concealer in Light- $3.00
Elf all over cover stick in Ivory- $1.00
Elf High Definition Powder- $6.00
Elf blush in Candid Coral- $3.00
Maybelline Color tattoo in too cool- $4.97
Urban Decay Rollergirl Palette- $13.00
Elf shimmer eyeliner pencil in Black Bandit- $1.00
L'oreal Voluminous million lashes in Black- $7.00
NYC Instant Lash mascara in black- $1.00
Elf wet gloss clear lash and brow mascara- $1.00
EOS lip balm in Sweet Mint- $2.96
NYC Liquid Lip shine in Dusty Rose- $2.27

Total: $63.53

Just like the last time I did this, I am surprised to see such a high total, considering how many items I purchased at such a low price! Especially considering I didn't use a bronzer or a high lighter or any products to fill in my eyebrows, like I normally would. So it would have been much higher with those products added in! Plus, that's without the cost of all the tools I used to apply these products! I used the prices that I could find online for each of these products (except the rollergirl palette, since I remember what I paid for it), so I may not have paid exactly that much for each of the products, but it's close enough! How much does your face of the day cost? Leave me a comment down below and let me know! Or you can do this tag on your own blog post! I tag anyone who wants to do this! Just, please, if you do, link back here to my post!!

Another video I posted recently is my favorites from December 2012. I know I did a 2012 all time favorite products post here, but there were a few products I just loved in December that I didn't love long enough to make it into my top products of 2012, but that I wanted to mention. So I went ahead and did a december favorites video as well

November Favorites

This month I decided to go aheaxd and film a video on my monthly favorites! But, I know not everyone enjoys watching videos so I figured I would write up a quick blog post to accompany the video. I didn't take photos of the products, which I realize now I should have done. But I did show each item in the video, so hopefully that's ok! So before I get started, here's the video!!

My first favorite is the Revlon Colorstay whipped creme foundation in 220 Nude. I really enjoy this foundation. It glides on smoothly, and has a beautiful finish. it is medium to full coverage, and very pretty on the skin. I have never used the original Revlon colorstay so I can't say how it compares to that one, but I really love this version and highly recommend it!

Next up are the sephora brand prisma chrome eyeshadows in moon bean and flash dance. I really like these eyeshadows! They come in a cute little square compact packaging, and the product itself is a really cool raised design. Moon beam is a super pretty light shade that I find is perfect for a brow bone highlight, or all over the lid. Flash dance is a beautiful deep orange color that I normally wouldn't have purchased but that I am loving as an outer corner color. These eyeshadows are incredibly pigmented and last all day with the proper eyeshadow base!

Next is the Elf little black beauty book, and I have the everyday festive eye edition. It's a beautiful compact little palette that fits right in my bag easily. It's about the size of my hand. It comes with a large variety of neutral as well as colorful eyeshadows. It's got a ton of variety, and most of the shades have good pigmentation. It's a very versatile little palette, and it only costs 5 dollars! This would make a great holiday gift.

Next is the L'oreal Voluminous million lashes mascara. I believe the shade I have is carbon black, but I'm not one hundred percent sure because I don't see the color name anywhere on the actual tube. Regardless, this mascara is amazing. It separates and lengthens my lashes without clumping. It does not flake, or transfer and it lasts all day. I really enjoy this mascara, and I highly recommend it!

I have a couple of lip products to share with you today as well. First is the Elf jumbo lip gloss stick in the color in the nude. It's a beautiful creamy nude color. It's perfect for my skin tone in my opinion. And even though it's technically a gloss, I don't find this one to be super glossy, so I like to wear it with a gloss on top, and the one that I especially like with this particular shade is the urban decay lip junkie lip gloss in Midnight cowboy. This is a beautiful nude gloss with lots of shimmer in it. It's beautiful, and it has a minty smell and a cooling sensation on the lips. LOVE! Another of my favorite lip products for the month of november is the Elf mineral lipstick in nicely nude. I really like all of the mineral lipsticks from this brand that I have tried, but nicely nude is my favorite of them all so far. Even though it's called nicely nude, it's not a nude color in my opinion. It's more of a true pink. It looks great on my skin tone, lasts for quite a while and have a beatiful sheen to it! you should check it out!

Next up is a couple of blushes. I have the Elf baked blushes in peachy cheeky and passion pink. Like their names suggest passion pink is a pink shade and peachy cheeky is a peachy-pink blush. Both are beautiful on the skin and they last quite a while. I wouldn't say all day, but I have gotten about 8 hours of wear out of each of them. And at 3 dollars each they are a steal!

The l'oreal dream lumi concealer/corrector in fair. I use this concealer to brighten my under eye area, and it's beautiful. It makes me instantly look more alive and awake, and it lasts and does not crease or move. I like it a lot!

Next up I have just a couple of fragrances. First is the bodycology body mist in peppermint twist. This little body mist I picked up in the stocking stuffer section of walmart and it just screams holiday to me. It's a beautiful peppermint scent. The scent doesn't last long, but since it's a cute little purse size, I can take it with me and re-apply whenever I want. The other schent I have been loving this month is the taylor swift wonderstruck perfume. I am horrible at describing scents, but it is described on the website as an awe-inspiring blend, filled with freesia, raspberry, vanilla, honeysuckle, and sandalwood. It smells so good. It's a great everyday fragrance in my opinion And the bottle is super cute!

My last favorite is a high-end product that I splurged on earlier in the month and it's the Mac paint pot in painterly. It's a skin toned cream product that I like to use as an eyeshadow base. It's great because it disguises the veins in my eyelids and makes for a great neutral base for any eyeshadow look. If I knew of a good drugstore dupe for this product I would have purchased it, but I have been looking for a product like this for ages, and I have simply not found a less expensive alternative. So I broke down and paid the 18 dollars to have this in my makeup collection, and while I cringe that I paid that much, I really am glad that I purchased this product. I really love it, and I find myself reaching for it everyday!

So that's it for my favorites this month. There were quite a few of them! I hope you enjoyed this blog post! Be sure to check out the video I posted as well, and if you like watching beauty related videos, go ahead and subscribe to my youtube channel, because there are lots more videos where this one came form! Thanks guys! I hope you all have an amazing December!

In Depth Nail Polish collection Video

It's been a long time since I did a nail polish collection post, and I have accumulated a TON of nail polish since then so I figured it was time to do an updated one! I filmed it on my phone, so it's a little shaky and the lighting isn't the greatest. I swear, one of these days I will get my act together and figure out a way to film higher quality videos, but for now please bare with me!

Fall Eyeshadow tutorial

I wanted to do an eyeshadow tutorial for the look that I featured in my last outfit/face/nail of the day post. So, I went ahead and filmed me doing it. I talk a lot in the video, and generally make a fool out of my self trying to find products without my glasses, but I decided to upload it anyway, because it's the easiest way for me to show you guys how I created the look. Please be kind if you watch this video. I am aware that I look like a fool. haha.

I should note that I didn't re-create the EXACT look that I featured in the face of the day. When I created that eyeshadow look I used three different eyeshadow palettes to do it, and that was just ridiculous, so I pared it down to one. I used the BH cosmetics 120 colors palette, which I have not given much love lately, and I am very happy with the way that the look turned out. I hope you find this tutorial helpful, or otherwise just enjoy having a laugh at me in this video.

Jewelry Haul: Palm Beach Jewelry

I haven't been doing a ton of shopping lately. I have been saving up my money for a trip I am taking next month, so I haven't had a ton of goodies to share with you all. However, I was on youtube watching beauty and fashion videos (one of my guilty pleasures) and I came across a video by one of my favorite beauty gurus BentleyBlonde. She was doing a jewelry haul showing off some items that were sent to her by a company called Palm Beach Jewelry, and along with the haul she was giving all of her subscribers a 10 dollar gift card for the company. I was intrigued so I went on the website and found it to be quite a nice site. They have got a ton of different jewelry in a large price range. Everything from very inexpensive costume jewelry to very nice, high quality gold and diamonds! I decided to take advantage of the free 10 dollar gift card and check out their shipping speed and jewelry quality.

One of the cool things about Palm Beach Jewelry is that they offer a Payment system, so you can get your jewelry right away, but you can choose to either pay in full at the time of your order, or they can break it down into 4 payments over the course of 4 months, with 0% interest! I didn't go with that option, since the item I chose was so inexpensive, but I thought I would put that out there for anyone who might be interested in this!

The item that I chose was actually a set of 3 Organza Ribbon necklaces, which are still available on their website here. I thought these would be fun to put some of the pendants I have on, or else I could wrap them around my wrist for a cute bracelet combination. All 3 necklaces cost 7.95! I went on retailmenot.com and found a coupon code for palm beach jewelry which took 15% off of the item, and also gave me free shipping. So, with the gift card code, I got these items completely free! And that's not all. My purchase also came with a free gift, which turned out to be a really beautiful tri-toned bangle style bracelet. (That I actually like better than the item I actually purchased) The order also came with a free jewelry cleaning cloth, which was a nice little bonus! The order also came with a catalog so I can check out their other items without having to go on their website. The catalog includes a 10% off coupon code for the next order!

Overall I am very happy with the company. I placed the order very late on July 3rd, and the package arrived to me on July 11th, so processing and shipping took exactly a week. I can't complain about that. I am happy with the quality of the jewelry that I ordered as well as the free gifts I received along with the order. I encourage anyone to check out this awesome company. And also be sure to check out and subscribe to BentleyBlonde. She is awesome! The code for the gift card might even still be available! Check it out here! That's it for now! Hope everyone enjoyed this haul, and I will talk to you guys again soon!
